“The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second-best time is right now.”
Ancient proverb
Bumper has pledged to plant 100,000 trees, in the UK and abroad, a vital tool in tackling the climate crisis and keeping global temperature increases below 1.5C is tree planting. Not only that, trees are also crucial to preventing ecological collapse.
Through our partnership with ecologi and The Eden Reforestation Projects we’re contributing to the planting of millions of trees around the world each month. 100,000 trees will remove almost 10,000 tones of CO2 every year.
UK Automotive 30% Club
The Automotive 30% Club is a voluntary network of MDs and CEOs from UK based automotive manufacturing, retailing and supplier companies.
The network was founded by Julia Muir, CEO of Gaia Innovation Ltd, with the purpose of encouraging inclusive leadership and achieving a better gender balance within the automotive industry, and with the aim of filling at least 30% of key leadership positions in the member organisations with diverse women by 2030 through a “30 by 30” strategy.
We’re really excited and honoured to be joining the Automotive 30% Club. As a fast growing VC backed tech business, we’re hiring a lot of people at scale, which brings a number of challenges. Automotive 30% Club will help us build a framework and structure to ensure our hiring process is always as inclusive and diverse as possible. We believe this is not only a moral and ethical responsibility, but also adds commercial value, as we believe a diverse management team makes better strategic decisions.

Caring for our team
We believe in treating our customers fairly but also our staff, which is why we’re a Living Wage employer. The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by nearly 6,000 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a fair day's pay for a hard day's work.
This means we pay the real Living Wage which is higher than the government minimum – we also ensure all our employees in London receive the London Living Wage.
Our community
Bumper joined National Park Rangers in woodland near Calver for a unique day of volunteering. The team worked together to collect hundreds of vintage glass bottles and ceramics that were found when the site was recently cleared due to Ash Dieback Disease. It's believed that the area was on the site of an old Victorian tip.
The Team found old Heinz bottles and Bovril glasses. Items that looked of interest were sent to archaeologists for analysis.
Bumper is supporting the Foundation after signing up for its Peak Partner scheme, which allows businesses to care for the National Park while meeting their Corporate Social Responsibility goals.
